Dear Mrs Murray

It was a joy to see you & your dear charming little niece.

If I were a man I should be in love with her & follow her all about
the world till I got her to like me.

I wonder Betty never told me of her. But she has so many nieces to
tell about.

I enclose my little letter. I am trying to write an article on Peace &
War, but I’ve I’ve not been able to add a line to it for two
months. I’m always so faint, & when I try to write it gets dark
before me.

I hope you will have a most happy time with May. Give her my best love.
I have no plans for the future. I just live on trying to get through
each day & each night. I do long so to see my husband. I feel
sometimes I shall never see him again.

Good bye.
