Dear Mrs Murray

Thank you for sending Betty’s letter. I am afraid I have treated
even her very badly, I have been writing to no one for a long time. It
must be so delightful at your farm. I sometimes have a day dream that
perhaps my husband will buy a little farm in that part of the world
one day. All doctors tell me it’s such a bad part of Africa for
asthma, but with Tucker’s Cure I might manage it.

Are there small farms for three or four thousand to be had in that
part?

//I’m afraid our sending the petition to the convention was a
mistake as it roused Mrs Merriman & Mrs Beck &c &c. All the letters I
get from England show how astonishingly the movement is spreading in
directions & among people where one would leave have expected it.

Don’t Betty’s letters make one long to be with her among all that
beauty? One hardly dares to picture anything green here in the sand.

Good bye.
Yours affecty
