Dear Mrs Solly
Thanks so much for your letter. Things are indeed is a dark way here.
I wish much I had never come out, but now I am here I must stay. If
one could do anything to help, it would be different. This shooting
down & imprisoning the natives if they dare to talk of striking is
really worse than anything in England.
If I am well enough I am coming to the concert on Thursday evening, &
could meet you at the Ladies Club before hand & have supper with you,
if you could tell me what time.
If you ever came to see me this place is quite easy to find, it is
just at the Tramway Terminus. The first house on the right hand side
after you get out.
We shall have much to talk over
Yours ever
Olive Schreiner
