Dear, I know how glad your mother heart will be to have your boy near
you. Do tell me if ever you have time (I know how busy you are) how Ol
looks? Is he much pulled down? Does he still suffer pain? What do the
doctors say of the wound? Will the arm be stiff long? say six months?

I return the little handkerchief you lent me, with thanks.

Its warm here now but never oppressive like in London. I suppose Ol as
he gets better will go in for playing chess. I see his name in the
list of wounded for the first time today. Rex Lewis’s name I have not
yet seen.

Give my love to our boy. I would give a great deal just to have a look
at him.

Good bye, dear.
