9This is your birth day, & I hope you’ll have as good a day as Berlin
10can give you. Many happy returns, with perhaps better health which I
11hope this holiday will give you, dear. I think when you get back to
12work in Cape Town you’ll feel you have more spring. Please drop me a
13line & tell me your news

15I got here at 10 ^11.30^ o’ clock last night. We had pouring rain all
16the way & the air & sky are still very heavy here. Some interviewers
17are coming to see me but I won’t be interviewed. I am just going out
18to telegraph to you, dear. You have been so good to me, dear. All the
19beauty of the time at Nauheim & even at Oberhof was that you were
20there. Thank you for your sweet gift dear I shall buy a beautiful
21evening dress for it – black, that will wear for years. You’ve

23Good by my dear old Brother. I must post at once if this is to find
24you still in Berlin. Please write & tell me if you see any interesting
25street sights.
