6 Your cigars were much appreciated. Cron had two the day I got here &
7they did him wonderfully little harm being so fine. The coronets are
8solemnly handed round after each meal, in faith of your statement that
9they aid digestion!

11 Monday. I couldn’t get further yesterday, but am much better today.
12I wish so much, & so does Cron that you could come & visit us. It
13would be so good for Cron to see more of you, & we’d make you quite
14comfortable here. I’d make you nice little vegetarian dishes with
15cheese & all, & you could play golf with Cron; but I suppose there’s
16no hope of that, till a time which I can’t reckon on.

18 Thank you dear for making my time in Cape Town so happy to me. I can
19never for-get the old man coming along with my Tucker’s so late at
20night at Muizenberg.
