5 It seems so long since I had any news of you or Alice.

7 I wish I could see Mrs Murray. My heart has been bad & I’m going up
8to Pretoria for ten days to stay with Mrs Smuts (who now lives at a
9lovely place called Irene 9 miles out of Pretoria) & then a few days
10with Lady Innes who lives in Pretoria.

12 You will have heard that Botha is prime minister.

14 Y We are having our nice winter weather now.

16 Good bye dear. Shall I ever see you two again?

19 ^I hear every week from Adela Smith She is going to have another little baby.^
