My dear, dear Lucy Molteno

I have just heard from Anna Purcell that you have been so ill. I am
thankful she tells me you are recovering again. I do hope you will
quickly get strong. Please take great care of you-self for a long time.
For at least a year you will will have to take more care of damp or
cold than you have. Ought you not to go up to Nel’s Poort for a few
weeks? The air there is so divine. And I expect your brother has got a
cool house.

Don’t trouble to answer this, dear. I shall hear from Anna Purcell
how you are getting on.
