Dear Emma

Thankyou very much for the beautiful likenesses. They are very good. I
do hope you had a fine time in the dear old world. Did you go on the
continent at all? We are hoping perhaps to be able to get away in
January for a year.

I have had three mis-carriages since the birth of my baby. I seemed to
get very well over the two first, in fact the first I hardly felt; but
the last has prostrated me, & I don't seem able to get strong: I feel
as if the change to Europe & seeing all my old chums there would pull
me together & I long so for them all to know my husband. I am sure
they will all love him. He's one of those people you like better the
more you see of him. Do write & give me some news of yourselves & the
dear little folk.

Yours with much love to Charley & the little ones.
