Dear

Some one is going into Sheffield so I take the chance of writing. The
post office is some miles from here, so I've not been up. Please tell
no one especially in writing to the Cape, but I've my passage in the
Dunottar Castle which leaves on the 6th October for the Cape. I find
that circumstance compels me to go out.

If I can I shall go abroad for a little run to Paris & Holland before
I go out, but it is all uncertain before me. I wait from day to day
but I can't form any plans. It will be lovely if you can come here.
You wouldn't like it for more than a day as I live in a little tumble
down cottage by myself, & eat nothing but bread & milk because it
takes all ones time to cook.

If you come to Sheffield or Chesterfield you can get a trap. I think
the charge is 12/- from Sheffield but from Chesterfield it is 6/-
Write & let me know when you can come. You will love dear old Ed
Carpenter
, he's so lovely in spirit. I wish you could go out with me.
