My dear Mary,

Did you get my letters from St Leonards? I only got yours here today.

I found St Leonards too ho relaxing & have come up here, to Ed
Carpenters & taken a tiny two roomed cottage. I am so uncertain of my
movements darling, it all depends on letters from others which I may
get any day whether I remain in Europe or return to Africa. If I
remain here I shall go abroad to Italy early in September & if it were
possible for you to go too, it would be so lovely.

Good bye.

My Mary: let me hear from you soon. I am so sorry my plans are so
unsettled but everything about me is unsettled ^now.
