My dear Mary

Thank you so much It will be such a very great help to have that money
for Naudé. It will be so splendid if he really turns out well. I am
so fortunate, no one I am interested in has ever failed quite, &
disappointed me.

I will tell you now my real & unchangeable plans. I had meant to go to
Kimberley this Thursday coming but something has happened which has
made me give it up. Now my plans, that will not change are to come to
town on the 8th by mail train, spend two days at Pools Hotel because I
want to test what it is like & to be near my brother's children, on
the evening of the 10th come to you & stay with you till my
sister-in-law is ready to start for Grahamstown where I am going with
her to see my little mother. When I come back from G Town which will
be about the 22nd will you come then to see me here, & stay a long
time I shan't be coming to live in town till end of May or middle, as
the weather is quite nice here till then. I've so much I want to say
but I've so much writing to do that I must get done before the English
mail leaves. I wish I had a private secretary. I sometimes have 40 or
fifty letters by one mail

Good bye.
