My dear Katie

I was very glad to receive your letter, & to learn that you were all
still well. I was wondering when I should hear from you again. I am
now, as you see, at St. Leonards-on-Sea, having left London on account
of the fogs. I have been here about two months, & find my health
wonderfully better for the change. It is so nice being so close to
Eastbourne. I was over there yesterday. All the dear ones are well,
Wilfred growing such a big boy. He goes to a school now as weekly
boarder, & is getting on splendidly.

I have not yet seen the comet.

I would be so glad if you could send me a copy of Fred’s poem. He
has forgotten the words. I should really be so glad if you could copy
them for me. I will send you some grass from Grandpapa’s grave when
I go up to London which I hope will be in a month or two when the fogs
are over.

I must bring this scrawl to a close or this week’s post will be
missed. Write to me soon, dear Katie

I am,
Your ever loving sister
