Dear Mr Lewis

My husband is writing a work on the angora goat; there are several
books in the Cape Town library, which are not to be got here - & which
he would much like to look at for reference, especially two vols of
the Cape Monthly^.^ for (the second first & second volumes). Is it
allowed to send books so far from Cape Town? And ^&^ if so on what terms.
Also could you very kindly let me know whether you have any works
dealing directly with the angora goat in the Cape Town library? I will
feel much obliged by a reply.

Mr Pape the gentle man from Oxford whom many years ago you introduced
to me is now living near us, & I think that the Kimberley air is quite
curing him.

Yours faithfully
