8Many thanks for the pencil corrections in the MS. They are very good &
9very much needed. So are many others; but I don’t think I shall
10publish the story. It doesn’t please me. It was forced work, &
11forced work can never be good. It haves a value now you have given so
12much time & trouble to it, & I shan’t burn it^, though I don’t
13print it.^ I am going to try & get Blackwood as a publisher for my new
14book. It is not likely he will care to publish it, but he may.
