1Dear Mr Hodgson

3I find the air here doesn’t suit me, so shall be coming up to London
4next week. I havent quite decided where to go, but a letter addressed
5c/o Standard Bank
610 Clements Lane
7Lombard Street
8City
9will always find me.

11I hope my last note didn’t seem to you very unfriendly. I wrote it
12when I was very ill. I don’t believe in criticizing your friends works;
13 I know how I should scorn any ^ones^ criticism of my book. Its just the
14same as criticizing another man’s eyes or nose; they are what they are
15& his, not yours. Also, I don’t believe in prefaces written by other
16people If a books good, it doesn’t need praise; if bad praise won’t
17save it.
18
19See how disagreeable I am
20
21Yours ever
22Olive Schreiner
