9Dear Mr Hodgson
10
11Thank you much for the long and most interesting letter you sent me.
12There are some points I should like to talk over with you. Ins there
13any chance of my meeting you in England? My address there is always
14c/o Dr Corthorn
1530 St Mary Abbotts Terrace
16Kensington
17London ^(unreadable)^

19I shall likely be in Florence till the end of April certainly till the
20end of March. If I don’t find I am benefiting by my stay in Florence
21I shall return to England at the earlier date, but I fear I shan’t
22be there till the end of April.
23
24I wonder how the world is going with you? Perhaps you are on the other
25side of the earth by this time!
26
27If you have time to write I’d much like to know what you think of
28the Boer government action in South Africa. I am filled with despair
29for the future of my country. The back veld Boer linked with the Rand
30financer will kill out the last remnant of freedom in our unhappy land.
31 I suppose there’s no chance of your turning up in Italy?
32
33Don’t address to the Hotel Paoli if you write but to Poste Restante
34Florence, as I shall soon be moving into other quarters. I have come
35over to Europe to get treatment for my heart. My brother W P Schreiner
36will be here April & he & I are going to Nauheim in Germany for the
37cure in June or July.
38
39Please remember me to the sister your spoke of & whom you said might
40some day visit South Africa. I should much like to meet you.
41
42Yours ever
43Olive Schreiner
