Schreiner first stayed in Llandrindod Wells from late July to late October 1915, and then again from mid June to mid September 1916. At the end of her first visit, she left for London and then Bude.

8When does your play come out? What is it about? One seems hundreds of
9miles removed from the outer world here. - really more removed than in
10a little up-country place in England Africa: though of course its only
115 hours to London. I hope your play will not come out till I return,
12that will be about the middle of September or beginning of Oct. I
13shall only be there for a short time & then go to Bude in North
14Cornwall. Many greetings to Miss Ehirlich & Miss Wickam. I wonder if
15it rains all over England as it does here! We’ve not had one fine
16day in two weeks.

21PS I wonder what you think of the chance of Peace? It seems to me it
22may come before Xmas; or it may go on for years. It all depends on
23what is going to happen in Russia during the next few weeks. We get no
24real news here, as we have nothing but the news papers. In London one
25does hear something now & then.
