9I often go to Hampstead, almost every day when its very hot to
10Golder’s Green. I am going to try & get rooms there

12I haven’t been able to read your letter to Miss Wickam. I find it so
13impossible now my heart is so bad to read anything that is not printed;
14 & I’m so busy trying to write whenever I’m a little better that
15I’ve not even opened my last weeks Cape news papers, which are very
16interesting just now as they give accounts of the investigations in
17Parliament into the causes of the Rising at the Cape.

19My little niece Ursula has just returned from France where she has
20been nursing the French wounded. She is here for a three weeks holiday.

22I was going to a Beethoven concert last night, but when the time came
23I found it was so hot I couldn’t manage it. A great disappointment.
