4 Just got your letter dear; of course I knew the matter was about the
5little sister. I am leaving this on Tuesday afternoon with Mrs Lewis
6We shall sleep Tuesday night at the Masonic Hotel Cradock, shall
7arrive by mail train. Can I see you. We go on early next morning to
8Cook house & Fort Beaufort In about a week our work there will be over
9perhaps in j less Could you then join me at Cook house & let is go to
10Kowie for a few days together? If your dear sister could go with us
11how lovely that would be to know more of her or you might join me in
12Fort Beaufort & we would have - ^the^ a good splendid drive by post cart
13through Queen’s Rd=

15^to the Kowie. Mrs Lewis cannot go to the Kowie with me as she has to
16hurry back to Cape Town to my nephew who is very ill, dying slowly.^

18It will be very beautiful to be again with her among the scenes where
19we two were as little children. We have never been together for more
20than a couple of days for more than 20 years.
