Dear Mrs Murray

I had quite forgotten that I had an engagement I can’t change for
Thursday. Would it be possible for you to come & have lunch with me on
Monday next. All this week I am full up with shopping for up-country
&c.

But next week I am quite free only then you will be gone & I did so
want to have a talk about the Woman’s society with you.

If you have a drawing-room meeting I would invite Mrs Chandos Pringle
the secretary, as she might feel pained if you didn’t I wonder what
truth there is in talk about a split between our men? Now we are told
we are never to remember the war & we are all loyal & tender lovers of
King Edward & the Empire, I do not see any common bond to hold us
together unless we are all united in our opposition to de Beers & the
speculators & are we united there?? Everything connected with politics
in South Africa is very distressing to me & I’ll just try to forget
it & stick to working at my novel.

Good bye
Olive Schreiner

I shall probably leave for Hanover & De Aar on Friday week.

I will try to run out to Kenilworth when I have a spare hour this week,
& will chance finding ^you in.^
