1Dear Lucy, It’s half past eleven o’clock. Betty who has just returned
2from spending ten days at Parklands is sitting by the fire reading a
3book, I think her change there has done her much good.

5I had a long letter from my dear May Parker this morning. Mrs Percy
6Molteno is staying with her. I hope May will come to town in the
7spring. I long to see both her & Freddy so. You get very fond of him
8when you get to know him, & they are so happy together.
