Schreiner was resident at Porchester Place from early April 1917 until August 1920, when she left Britain for South Africa.
Dear Lucy,
It was so good to see your handwriting this morning. I have just come
back from Ursula’s wedding. I like her husband very much. It was a
very quiet wedding. Dot is over here on ten days leave & then returns
to France. Oliver was in India when last I heard from him, but going
to Mesopotamia
I’ve not seen much of Betty lately, but hope she will come in this
evening. Its wonderful to think of Lu-cy as “grown up”. I’ll
write a real letter soon.
My dear love to you
