Dear old Brother

I didn’t like your giving me that cheque, because I know times must
be hard with you as with all of us in this terrible time. If it
hadn’t been for the war Ol would already have been a barrister,
I’m sure making already a good income with his splendid ability, &
Ursie nearing the end of her course, & all so different. Thanks for
all your kindness to me dear when I was such an unpleasant visitor on
Monday.

My treatment yesterday afternoon relieved the pain greatly. It is
really wonderful, Will. I think every time I have it of what relief it
might have given Ettie, with that deadly continual “sickness” she
had for the last two years.

Good bye my dear old brother.

I hope Isabella’s lover turned up yesterday. It so nice to think
some people are full of happiness.
