My dear old man

I got here yesterday after a most delightful journey. It was the first
time I’d been out of London for 9 months except that drive I went
with you & Dot to Harrow on the Hill, & when I went on the bus to St
Albans. It was delightful May Murray met me here at the station. She &
her husband are most kind they live in a charming little house. I like
the place from what I see of it. It is not wildly stimulating like my
beloved East Coast, but not at all relaxing. The country about reminds
me of the country near Grahamstown. There are no great bare mountains
as in the North.

Yesterday was splendid To-day there are quick showers of rain & then
bright sunshine.

Tell me when Oliver goes. I am so thank-ful to be out of London.

Good bye, dear.
Olive

May Murray has just got her Cape Post, & the latest news ^there^ is that
our Dot is engaged to Paul Methuen!! How ridiculous people are.
