6 I hope I didn’t worry you by the letter I posted yesterday which you
7will get with this. Laddie, I have set my heart so on your forming a
8centre round which the enlightened & liberal elements can gather. You
9do understand why I write?

11 I am always thinking of you & wondering how it goes; though in general
12I have a very good idea, I fancy how it will go!

14 You will make many good friends which to me is always one of the main
15things in life; & Fan will have a great deal of pleasure brought into
16her life by the visit – that’s good any how. Tell me how it goes
