Dear Mrs Murray

I think my husband will go, & in that case I must stay here to look
after things. Don’t expect me, (if you should be good enough to say
you can have me) unless you get a wire on Saturday saying I am coming

In I wonder how our meeting on the 2nd went off in your opinion. I am
so glad the "News" had a sympathetic little note. I am surprised to
hear the Argus does not mention the meeting at all Is this so?

Did Betty tell you she had been to a suffragette meeting, & been so
deeply moved? Have you read "The Convert" by Elizabeth Robins? If not
please do & tell me what you

^think of it. ^

Yours ever

Notation
The book referred to is: Elizabeth Robins (1907) The Convert London: Methuen & Co. The 'sympathetic little note' in the South African News refers to a 2 June 1908 major meeting in support of women's enfranchisement held in the Metropolitan Hall, Cape Town, organised by the Women's Enfranchisement League with Caroline Murray as its President. See South African News 3 June 1908 (p.5).
