Dear old Fan

Do just drop me a line to tell you how it goes with you all. Did Will
return set up by his trip? No doubt Master Ollie enjoyed it.

Cron has been laid up for five days with gout in both feet. He is
about again today. I have still no servant of any kind; & have no time
for any thing but house work. We have to be out of this house by the
last of this month & I can’t get even a room here, so I think I
shall try Beaufort West, where I have heard of a room on a farm. It
will be nice to rest a little if only I don’t get asthma there.

Tell me all your news.

I enclose a note from Isie Smuts which may interest you They wanted me
much to go & stay with them while Cron is at Parliament, but the
climate there is much worse even for me than in Cape Town. Have you
had any news of Ely?

Good bye dear,
The Wandering Jew.
