I was so glad to get your note last night, though it was five days old.

There is a Boer woman here who is very anxious to get a new burner for
her ka Primus stove, (its one of the old fashioned kind) with the
spirit hollow low down on the slep stem) she has begged me to try &
find out if she can get a new burner in Cape Town & what it costs.
Would you try to find out for her if it is to be had in Cape Town.
It’s bit at the top she wants new A & A.

The weather here is beautiful but nothing else is. It will soon be
three months since I was in Cape Town. How slowly things move. It
seems years & years.

Has Miss H returned?

I wonder what really is happening all over the country.

My dear love to you both

Notation
Schreiner has drawn a picture of the stove with an arrow just before the sentence beginning 'It's a bit at the top ...' to show what she wanted Molteno to find out about.
