My dear Friend

I’ve had a great treat this afternoon Miss Forest & Mrs Stratten &
Miss Rush have just been out here. It was quite cheering to see their
good sweet faces. They said they thought there was a chance of your
coming up. I hope there is.

It’s lovely up here now & will do Miss Green good.

I am pregnant again but only in the very early stage. If I don’t
have a miscarriage I shall be ill in January or February. I am going
to try & take great care of myself that all may go well. The worst is
I’m so stupid & lazy. I’m quite well, but so disinclined to work.
I’d like to be a cow & lie in a big meadow & chew the cud all the
day!

Do come, if you can because you know in the summer it’s too hot.
