Dear Miss de Villiers

I have had a great disappointment I believe Miss O’Connor who was to
be the principle speaker at our meeting will not be able to come on
Saturd Monday. I have written to hear from her herself but till we
know she can come, please don’t write anyone o I will let you know
as soon as I know.

Yours in haste
Olive Schreiner

All the other girls who promised to speak now say they feel too unable.
So if we can’t get Miss O’Connor we will have to give it up.
