5 Thanks for the cutting much. I was very ill at Hythe & had to come up.

8Square, but I may have to stay on here if I can’t get a room. I’ll
9let you know my movements. Please come and see me some day when I am
10settled. I want to talk to you about the Peace Movement here.

12 Later. I send you the letter to Mrs ...? wife of the owner of the New

. I will try and write a few words for the meeting. I am
14here for the present but may be leaving for Durrants Hotel tomorrow.
15But if you should write address c/o Mrs Smith, 4 Gloucester Place, who
16will always know where I am.

18 I have much terrible news from the Cape. Things are very bad in every
