3 I was to have left yesterday for Pretoria to speak on woman & labour
4at the Womans Domestic Industries Congress. But I was too unfit & Cron
5has gone alone. He returns next Saturday. Dear I want to ask you to do
6me a very great favour. Now Anna Purcell is gone I have no one to ask.
7I am afraid if I come to Cape Town I will not be able to stay more
8than a very little time with your or Minnie de Villiers as Newlands &
9Plumstead are too dar ^damp^ & have too many pine trees. But there is an
10hotel called, I think, the Hotel Milner. It used to be the Van der
11Byles house I fancy, it is somewhere near Woodstock. I think you will
12know the hotel I mean. Some day when you can spare the time, could you
13perhaps go & tel look at the place & tell me what its like. If they
14have nice airy up stairs bedrooms, & what the terms are. & it if its
15near the train station as I can’t walk far. I am afraid I am giving
16you great trouble dear, but I would be so glad if you could do it for me
