The Project is grateful to Manuscripts and Archives, University of Cape Town, for kindly allowing us to transcribe this Olive Schreiner postcard, which is part of its Manuscripts and Archives Collections. This postcard, which Schreiner has self-addressed, is not fully written and was not sent. Schreiner was resident in Hanover from September 1900 to October 1907, after 1902 with visits, sometimes fairly lengthy, elsewhere. The postcard can be approximately dated by reference to other letters about purchasing a stove. See Schreiner’s postcard to an ironmongers, Woodhead, Plant & Co (Olive Schreiner BC16/Box11/Fold2/Undated/5), concerning the stove.
