Legend
The Project is grateful to Manuscripts and Archives, University of Cape Town, for kindly allowing us to transcribe this Olive Schreiner postcard, which is part of its Manuscripts and Archives Collections. The date of this postcard is provided by the postmark, while the address it was sent to is on its front. Schreiner stayed with her niece Ursula Scott, her sister-in-law Fan Schreiner, and her friend Lucy Molteno, in Cape Town after her arrival from Britain on 30 August 1920, moving to a boarding-house in Wynberg in late October 1920, where she was resident until her death on 11 December 1920.

3I have had a letter from Aunt Betty every week but she has not told me
4when Mrs Molteno & Margaret & all the rest are coming out. Are your
5father & mother coming out before the others. If you should be coming
6to Town I would be so glad to see you. I wonder if Aunt Betty will
7come out with the others I suppose May & Freddie will go straight up
8to Elgin.
