Legend
The Project is grateful to Manuscripts and Archives, University of Cape Town, for kindly allowing us to transcribe this Olive Schreiner postcard, which is part of its Manuscripts and Archives Collections. The address this postcard was sent to and the name of its addressee are written on the card; the date is derived from its postmark. A picture with the caption ‘Gehlberger, Mühle’ is on the front. Schreiner stayed in Bad Nauheim for some weeks during June to July 1914.
1This is the picture of a little place in the woods, an old mill, & a
2little inn. Some American friends of mine drove Will & me there
3yesterday afternoon. There were hundreds of people there eating at
4little tables under the trees, & dancing to a band it was very pretty.
5I am leaving for Holland tomorrow.
