The date of this letter has been derived from the postmark on an attached envelope, which also provides the address it was sent to. Schreiner was in Cape Town from late November 1911 to mid January 1912.

5 I hope you got the letter I sent you on Sunday, on Xmas morning. I am
6so anxious for more news of you. I have to go out to Blauwberg or I
7would drive up today ^just^ to hear how you are.
9 Nurse must please send me this post card with news. I’ll be so
10thankful to her if she will.
12 I am still at my brothers till Friday morning.
