Dear Lucy,

A few minutes after you had gone I remembered I had an important
engagement for Saturday afternoon that I could not put off. Sunday I
had promised to go up to St James. I could have put that off but now I
think if you’ve nothing that makes it difficult I’d like to come
on Monday by the the 12.45, which gets to Rondebosch by the 12.57.
I’ll sleep the night. I know Monday is your nurse’s day for going
out, so we’ll have the babes all to ourselves. If this doesn’t
suit write to me. If I dont

^hear I shall think it suits ^
