Dear Mrs Molteno

I’ve been wanting so much to write & thank you for all you did to
make my time beautiful & pleasant while I was in Cape Town. It was a
great thing to me to get to know you a little better.

My heart has been very bad since I came back here, & I fear I shall
have to go away somewhere; but it just breaks my heart to leave my
dear husband here, & the little cottage he has made so nice thinking I
should be able to live in it. I shall stay on as long as I can.

I send you an interesting letter I got this mail from my friend Mrs
Pethick-Lawrence about the woman’s work in England.

When I’m at all able I’ll write out my little suggestions for that
little man & woman’s club, & send them to you or Mrs Brown. I think
you ought to be President & Mrs Brown vice president & Anna Purcell
treasurer & Mrs de Villiers of Plumstead treasurer. I do hope Mrs
Murray
will at the next election be president of the Enfranchisement
League. She is just the person who could do so much.

There is a great sand storm on today, the sand has been blowing for 6
hours & one can’t even see the camp.

Please send the enclosed letter of Mrs Lawrences to Mrs Brown at 2
Glebe Terrace ^Rondebosch^ as she is very interested in the English work.

Good bye.
Your affectionate friend
Olive Schreiner
