7My dear Mr Hodgson

9Thank you for your note. I do hope your work will come off at the end
10of the fortnight. My friend from Scotland came & spent yesterday
11evening with me. He says its all right; it was not from me that
12anything got about.

14I saw my niece a couple of days ago. She’s looking rather over
15worked I I think – is very busy helping with soldiers wives &
16families. Every one looks sad these times.
