Dear Friend

I hope you will get this note Mrs Purcell tells me you are still in
Cape Town. Did Mrs Murray sail on the 14th as you said she would in
your last Post Card. Is it very hot in Cape Town. Here the heat is
more prostrating than it has ever been known in Hanover, but then
there has never before been such a drought. Nothing to eat, & even the
water in the fountain running low! Hofmeyr writes that there will be a
fresh election at Prince Albert on the 7th & I suppose soon after that
he shall know & perhaps I shall come down to Cape Town then. Tell me
if its very hot there. Sometimes the summer remains quite cool there
till after Xmas. I long so much to see. The Smuts are going to spend
six weeks at Gordon’s Bay. It's sad to be so cut off from you all.

^Good bye dear one. Tell me how you are feeling ^
