Dear Jessie

Cron & I were starting this evening for Cape Town ^have all our things
packed^ but I didn’t feel quite strong enough this morning. So
we’ve give it up for the present. We may come next week or the week
after. He has to go on business, & won’t leave me. We shall only be
there a few days.

The weather is heavenly here now: & I suppose it is all damp & fog in
Cape Town. C It was said here in one of the papers that the members of
the opposition were almost compelled to go to the lunch to Sir H
Robinson because by their wives who where afraid they would be shut
out from Government House festivities &c. One can never believe what
the Kimberley Colonial papers say; & I’m quite sure it couldn’t
have been your making, but it quite distressed me! Cron sends hearty
greetings to you both. He seems to grow gentler & tenderer to me every
day now I am so weak.

My love to you all.
