I can’t get over the disappointment of our having left Krantz Plaats
when you passed. I’m all the time sick still, night & day, & I
can’t write much. I suppose I must quicken in a few days now, & then
it may get better.

Do you know the Miss Herold who has so awfully died at Cape Town. I
wonder so much if she is the one who went to England when I went. Who
is supposed to be the child’s father?

Ach, I wish I could see some of my dear friends, & was not so far from
you all. Dolly will be quite grown up when I see her next! Good bye.
