3I was so sorry I didn’t see you this morning. I had to go to see
4Will off. His Doctor was there. I ask him if he thought Will better:
5he said a little better than last week, as he couldn’t possibly have
6travelled then. He had a whole side & plenty of cushions to lie down
7all the way.

9Please leave me a paper saying by what train – at what hour we start
10for Islays on Tues-day.

12I wish you were coming with me, but one can never speak of the war to
13Alice. I don’t mind, as long as I have some human companionship. I
14shall be back early on Monday morning.

16I wish I could go to the meeting on Sunday, but you will be able to
17tell me
