Dear Fan

It was good of you to write when I know you must have so many letters
to send off every week. But I had been somehow so anxious. If it
hadn’t been so expensive I’d have been down to London just for the
day to see how you were. I wasn’t anxious about z the Zeps = there
isn’t one chance in millions of any ones being hit by them, but I
felt as if there was something wrong.

I’m going to tea on Friday (the first time Ive been anywhere since I
came) to a Dr Worthingtons. His mother is here, & says she knows Dot &
you & wants to meet me. I think she must be the mother of Phillis
Corringden Dots friend, & Dr Worthington her brother. I shall like to
see some one who knows you.

Do you know some people called Wilson at the Cape? Victor Molteno,
James Molteno’s son in the nNavy is engaged to one of the daughters.
One daugh son married Dr ?Carsilon’s daughter. I don’t think I
ever met people of that name at the Cape. May doesn’t know them
either. I hear Offies ^de Villiers^ brother has a

^sentence of four years’ imprisonment He has a wife & four small
children But I think I told you all my news from the Cape in my last.^

I must go to the station now to meet Miss Brackenbury.

Love to you from Olive
