Dear Mrs Murray

I seemed to see so little of you when I was last in town. I hope if I
do come down this Xmas I shall see more of you.

I have given up all hope of seeing Betty & Miss Greene, the weather is
already here so trying with wind dust & heat, that if they did come
they would not be able to stay more than one day. I quite expect to
hear Betty has run back to her beloved Switzerland any one of these
days.

I am not feeling up to writing a real letter about anything, but am
sending you this line just because you’ve been so much in my mind
the last days.

Yours ever affectly
