8 We are speeding along.

10 It is raining outside – but we are all as jolly as possible & most
11comfortable: this splendid large sitting room makes all so different
12Hannie has gone to bed: Fan Oliver Dot & Ursula are playing bridge, &
13I am writing a couple of notes to post early tomorrow. The country is
14all under water; we can’t see much; but the great advantage is we
15have no dust. The food is very good & the men most attentive. If only
16you were here dear it would be quite perfect

18 My old Dot is very delightful. I love her from the crown of her head
19to the sole of her foot – We are all so happy together
