  Dear Mrs Solly

I have been feeling quite unhappy about that letter I sent you
thinking it had better not have been written. If the womans
enfranchisement were kept back a year or two by any little mistakes:
what difference would it make? It must come at last. I have not
written to Mrs Macfadyen yet, & feel perhaps it would be better to
trust her own fine feeling not to use the name of our little society,
nor of any members of it who are not "Loyal Lady-Leaguers" to help
forward her Loyal Lady-Leaguer work in the Transvaal, ^& in no way to
connect us with it^. I think if some South African women can quietly
start a society ^in the Transvaal^ there backed by some of the most
solid & well known S A women it may have great effect on strengthening
the hands of the Transvaal Government in giving the franchise. I shall
be here for another two weeks, so if you are able to write please
  address here.

I would so like to see the women of South Africa enfranchised before I
die. But if one doesn’t, one knows it will come all the same.

  Yours ever most sincerely
  Olive Schreiner
