Dear Fan

I hope you are all having a good time at St James. I am waiting
anxiously for the results of the exams: I wonder how Dot will come out.
I am living here quite alone here now with Ollie & the meerkats! A
little girl comes in for an hour or so in the morning to fetch water &
carry out the unreadable dust; but for the rest of the time I’m
quite alone. Cron is coming from de Aar to spend the day, next
Saturday the 26th as that’s his birth day but goes back the next day.
I have got my little house all beautifully clean now & am going to
try settle down to my writing. The time when I feel most lonely is
just when it’s beginning to get dark in the evening.

Write to me some time & give me all your news. Love to all the folk.
Your little sister Olive
