Dear Fan

Do drop me a line to tell me how the world goes with you & when your
boys are coming out again. Have you got the dining room & balcony done
yet? I expect they will look very nice. Had our travellers got to
England when they last wrote. My last was a note from Oliver from
Munich in which he said they had been to Stutgard & sent me some snap
shots.

There is really no news to give from this dull little spot. My little
Kaffir boy tells me that a little Kaffir boy told him that a coloured
woman who lives in a house close to mine had flogged her ^little^ child
to death this morning. Thats the only news I’ve heard for ten days,
& isn’t very cheerful!! I suppose tomorrow when Cron goes down to
his office

^I shall hear if it was true. Today has been Sunday & Cron has been at
home resting. We went for a little walk this evening across the veld
to the koppjes & I found three trap-door spiders nests & Cron three.
Now I think you will have had enough of my Hanover news, so good bye
dearest old sister. I know how you are longing to have your boys with
you again & hope they will be with you safe & sound before very long. ^

Cron sends his love.
